Some days, it's hard to believe that summertime could possibly not be my favourite season, but then Autumn comes along and gives it all a run for its money: winter squash, apples, grapes, pears, persimmons, cider, hearty soups and stews...

Which is why we can't wait for November's SNS!

Butternut squash, caramelized onion, and goat cheese crostini

Endive boats with fried fennel, bleu cheese, and warm olive oil

Glazed duck confit with olive relish and sauce verte

Pain au chocolat bread pudding

Because we're getting fancy, we need you to pitch in on this! $35 gets you in.

The noms:

Feta, sumac, and black sesame seeds on flatbread crackers

French onion soup 

Pan fried brussel sprouts with caramelized onions and aged manchego

Rice pudding with persimmon, pear, honey, and pistachios

OUR VERY FIRST POPUP!

Whipped & Beaten is extremely excited to announce its very first pop-up restaurant!

Details:

When: Sunday, 14 September 2014 at 7pm

Where: Firehouse 8
            1648 Pacific Avenue
            San Francisco, CA 94109

What (menu):

Start: MGK's kale salad
kale, arugula, cabbage, edamame, cucumber, fennel, garlic croutons, citrus dressing

Then: Creamy white onion soup
white onion soup with onion jam and gruyere crostini

And then: Fried farro with wild mushrooms, chimichurri sauce and:

Fried egg (Vegetarian)
Crispy, braised pork (Omnivorous)

Finish: Lemon creme
lemon creme with bruleed marshmallow fluff and house-made graham cracker garnish

Cost: $50

Whew! It's happening this Sunday, and it took so long for us to find a menu that we were happy with that you're only hearing about it now.

Sunday, 27 July. Get ready!

Here's the plan for eats:

White bean puree with harissa, pita and cucumber salad

Green bean and hazelnut salad

Seared whitefish with Basmati and wild rice with chickpeas, currants, & herbs

Dessert surprise (TBD!)

When you can't stop thinking about food, let it happen to you. That's what we do, which is how we came up with this month's Sunday Night Supper menu. Ready? Here goes:

29 June — Mark your calendar!

On the menu:
Stone fruit bruschetta
Grilled peach salad
Roast pork tenderloin with watercress and arugula salad
Sour cherry galette with honey ice cream

Because stone fruit! Menu subject to change, due to aforementioned endless thinking about food.

Oh em gee, Sunday Night Supper's on for THIS SUNDAY! And we didn't even tell you until now. 

It's like that one time when we thought we'd put the brake on, and then it rolled into all those other cars. Wait, no, it's nothing like that, but we're sorry all the same!

Menu-ish:

Start: Kale Caesar! (say that aloud. Teehee!)
Middle: Hand-rolled papardelle with summery vegetables
OR pan-seared halibut with chorizo and shallots for our gluten free friends
End: Lemon creme tart.

Happy April! Now that the day of trickery is well behind us, it's time to get serious: 

Sunday Night Supper is on the 20th of April

As always, this menus is subject to change, but here's what we're thinking:

Garlic soup with harissa
Mushroom and potato parcels with greens
Pear galette

Pretty sure pinot noir will be flowing as well.

Mark your calendars for March Sunday Night Supper! 16/3, otherwise known in the Whipped & Beaten kitchens as "St. Patrick's Day Eve." So to celebrate the Irish, we're going all meat-and-potatoes on you. 

Menu is subject to change, but for now we're looking at:

Brussel sprout and kale salad

Steak 
Garlic mashed potatoes
Wilted greens

Pear and cherry cobbler with vanilla ice cream

TBD Whiskey cocktail

Please RSVP so that there will be enough food! As we discovered in February, we pretty much max out at 10 heads, so get your seat before we run out of them.
